Leveraging diversity, or using it to make the organization stronger and more productive, is an important organizational goal.
Organizations must strive to bring down barriers that fail to leverage the main talents, skills, knowledge, and insights of its workers at all levels, in all roles. Diversity can make organizations better, and the leveraging of diversity should be a goal of every organization.
It is important to remember that diversity is not just about race and nationality. Diversity also includes gender, age, disability, religion, political affiliations, sexual orientation, communication styles, and other factors. Within every organization, there are opportunities to leverage diversity and multiculturalism in order to make that organization stronger.
Think of a situation in which diversity was not leveraged in an organization of which you have been a part.
