Tom Kings Vision explores a family of synthezoids trying to acclimate to normal life in America. They are created in the same image is the prototype American family of the 1950s. i.e., husband, wife, two kids, a dog and a house in the suburbs. What could possibly go wrong?
As it happens, quite a bit. After reading this Link (Links to an external site.), craft an essay addressing how the Visions represent The Other and how their journey represents that of people acclimating to a new home and country. How are they treated? How do they attempt to fit in to their new environment? In what ways are they able to be “human,” and in what ways do they fail? What points do you believe King is trying to make? Is he successful?
Additionally, show how the characters utilize inductive and deductive reasoning in this book. Give two (2) examples of inductive and two (2) examples of deductive reasoning in the body of your essay.
Your essay should include an analysis of the book, identifying your thoughts on the work and your insights into what you believe King is attempting to accomplish with his narrative. This is a graphic novel, so make sure you comment on how the art impacts the story as well.
