Final Writing Project
Ethics are a key concern for all anthropological research projects. For your final writing project I want you to pretend that you are proposing a research project to the ASU Institutional Review Board.
Using 1,000-1,500 words you’ll need to propose an anthropological study focusing on some aspect of the everyday lives of your participants (fashion, food, funerals, family, fun, etc.). You proposal must be fully cited, and it must be an in-text citation method such as MLA. Please see the syllabus for how the paper will be graded.
Your proposal should
Define the parameters of what your study is including
Where it will happen.
Who your research participants will be
How you will start your project
Explain why you think this is an important topic to research
List what methods you will use to collect your data
Including why you chose those methods
Discuss what you hope to learn or gain from this study
Mention others who have done similar work
state how your research would be different
Address any ethical concerns of the project
Including how you plan on protecting your participants
Justify how the results of this study might be used or applied
