The strategy I would use to help Josiah change his current behavior involves asking him to develop a plan to reduce his drinking habit and involve his friends who expose him to alcohol. Through a follow-up planner or diary, Josiah will account for his activities for two months to see if he is making progress. He will report weekly for a checkup and explore if he is adopting a new lifestyle. Based on the police citation, Josiah must avoid drinking and sexual activities that might land him in trouble. This strategy of following a schedule that facilitates behavior change is integral as it helps clients see the milestone they have made towards progress. It is an essential consideration that makes it easy for clients to understand the dimensions of change. Change is difficult, but with a lot of dedication, it gets convenient to handle change, as stipulated by (Frankel et al., 2012).
