I need a writer who can access the sourcesResponse GuidelinesRead the initial posts of the other learners and respond to two. In each response, ask clarifying questions or suggest other ways to measure the outcomes resulting from the learner’s grant.Sarah EnsmingerEnsminger Discussion 1 Week 10COLLAPSEIn your Nuts and Bolts of Grant Writing textbook, read “Case Study 1: Application of a Simple Logic Model” on pages 83–92. This case study shows the application of the logic model, which uses a research question to identify the purpose of a particular grant. Using this approach can help you examine the ultimate question of whether your grant will make a difference.Using the approach of developing a research question to measure impact, in your initial post, indicate what your research question would look like, now that you have developed your grant proposal for the assignment in this unit. What measurements should be put in place to provide data to answer your research question? Describe how the creation, integration, and implementation of this grant will help the organization, guiding it toward successful, purposeful outcomes.Research QuestionDo soup kitchens, food pantries, and community gardens assist with eliminating food insecurity?ObjectivesProvide three free meals per dayProvide Community Gardens and teach nutritional valuesProvide Food boxesActivitiesWho will work each task?Publicize the program.Define criteria for poverty levels that are able to seek assistance from the program.ResourcesHow many staff members will be needed to effectively work each project? How many food boxes and meals will be needed per day to meet the need? How much will publicity cost? How much will gardening equipment and maintenance cost? The logic model takes a look at the goals, objectives, activities and resources needed. The research questions to my project would look like this: Do soup kitchens, food pantries, and community gardens assist with eliminating food insecurity? In order to answer this research question I would need to analyze statistical data over time. Such data would include poverty rates, number of households receiving nutritional program support, and number of individuals continuing to seek assistance within the program. The logic model can ensure that objectives are specific and resources that are needed to complete each objective is understood. The creation of the grant will help the organization understand the capabilities that the program can complete with the projected funding. The program’s integration and implementation of the grant can ensure that the program moves forward in meeting set objectives. The information contained in the logic model can assist in writing the narrative that can assist in setting clear objectives and resources needed for each one. The narrative can also be used as a source document to refer back to when reviewing plans or modifying the program in general. “Logic models are enormously helpful here because it is easy for the writer to elide important details when he is working from memory” (Carr, 2014). Using the logic model, while researching the research question to provide thorough information can guide the program to meeting budget, time lines, and set objectives and ultimately reach successful conclusions.ReferenceCarr, C. The measurements that should be implemented to provide data to answer the research question will be indicated. This post is also intended to describe how this grant will help the organization, guiding it toward successful, purposeful outcomes.Yuen et al. (2013) discuss the ‘if-then’ sequence of logic models that can connect goal-related activities with results. The logic model is also helpful because it can display data in a graph format instead of a narrative. My data in the following sections, is modeled after the Yuen et al. (2013) formatting.Community Need: There are problems in my community which could be addressed by this program. Some Canaan and Skowhegan residents with low-income do not have transportation to Lake George Regional Park (LG). Canaan and Skowhegan residents who do not access LG may not have environmental sustainability awareness and may not get enough physical, non-labor oriented movement.Inputs: Resources are needed to operate this program. In the spring and fall, LG Americorps Volunteers will speak with Canaan and Skowhegan Elementary School 8th grade Art classes to invite them to create program promotional designs. The LG Director will speak with the Town Manager of Canaan and Skowhegan and they will evaluate and collaboratively decide about pick-up drop-off points for guests. Americorps volunteers will create and deliver orientation for guests, inspired by Maine SCORP, LWCF and other current and relevant content. Agreement with LG Board of Directors regarding orientation content. Increased staffing availability is needed. Increased restroom supplies and maintenance are needed. Funding for KVCAP driver(s) and two rescue rafts are needed. Funding is required for extra duty, evaluation process and time. LG Director will elect a web-based survey of industry standards of evaluation in parks and recreation services. Website, local radio station news update will follow.Activities: Understand KVCAP transportation qualifying criteria and ongoing status of operations in relation to the goal. Public invitation in Canaan and Skowhegan. Define and establish pick-up and drop-off points for guests. Create a two hour orientation that promotes LG mission and the LWCF grant initiatives and which will be presented quarterly to participants. Designate staffing to manage increased park utilization. LG Director and employees will collaboratively designate an internal evaluation team. Create a data collection plan. Establish what data will be collected. Establish, collaboratively with town managers, by whom and when data will be publicized.Outputs: If we deliver our planned activities, then we will increase annual park access by 5%, promote environmental sustainability awareness and more physical movement.Intermediate Outcomes: If we provide free transportation and on-going LG orientations, then this will lead to increased park utilization, awareness and movement.End Outcomes: If we deliver free transportation and orientation then this will lead to increased utilization of the park, increased awareness of environmental sustainability and more physical movement of participants. More residents will access the lake, care about the park environment, and be more mobile. This program will engage students and older residents to support the LWCF in the development and conservation of public outdoor recreation facilities. The end outcomes of this proposal will help LG achieve successful, purposeful outcomes.Goal: The goal of this proposal is to promote public access, mobility and stewardship of LG by supporting Canaan and Skowhegan residents to access LG one of two possible days per week for three hours, Tuesdays from 10 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. and Thursdays 4 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., using free, grant-subsidized Kennebec Valley Community Action (KVCAP) transportation to and from designated drop-off/pick-up points in Canaan or Skowhegan. Corresponding objectives for this goal are listed below.Research questions that will measure impact and the measurements that should be implemented: Research questions are discussed by Carr on page 72 (2015).Will free year-round transportation for residents increase LG use? What are the quarterly and annual numbers of program participants? Are these numbers equal to or greater than quarterly and annual use rates from last year? Will increased LG access promote more mobility for residents who engage with the program?Survey interview inquiry: Did you get more movement today, than yesterday, because you came to the lake? Will orientations increase LG environmental stewardship? For these pre and post orientation questions, there may be some issues however they will serve as a good starting place for future reference in investigation. These survey questions were inspired by the ecocentric and anthropocentric attitudes toward the sustainable development (EAATSD) scale, as discussed by Kopnina (2017).On a scale of 1 to 5, how much do you care about the natural environment at Lake George? On a scale of 1 to 5, how much do you agree that there are important reasons to keep LG clean from pollution and litter and protected from clear-cutting?On a scale of 1 to 5, how much do you agree that nature can help you feel good and that it is a place for plants and animals?Yuen, F.
