After taking the tests, write a four paragraph post to me alone in which you discuss political identity — include what you learned about yourself and about different perspectives on politics from these tests and/or what they confirmed that you already knew (if you prefer to keep your political identity private, you can focus on the tests themselves and the ways in which they determine political identity). In this discussion use at least 4 ideas or concepts from the discussion of the Origins and Nature of Public Opinion, pp. 404-420, in Chapter 10 to identify and make sense of the common factors used in these tests to place you and others in categories.
In a final paragraph apply a critical eye to these tests and this assignment. Use at least two ideas or concepts from the next two parts of the chapter — Public Opinion and Political Knowledge or Shaping Opinion — to evaluate how useful these types of quizzes are for understanding political identity and/or what people know and understand of American politics. Make your references to the tests and textbook explicit and specific.
