For this project you will research and write on a specific ethical guideline that impacts the Addiction Professions. You may find that reviewing the NAADAC Code of Ethics (Links to an external site.) is a good place to start your research.
Briefly describe the specific ethical guideline you have chosen to research and explain its intended purpose
Review the reasons why this particular ethical practice would, when followed, improve treatment service for patients
Explain the kinds of harm the patient could experience if this ethical practice was violated
Describe how this ethical practice could potentially disproportional impact certain socio-cultural groups (for example, do the ethical standards on bartering unduly impact low income patients and create a barrier to service?)
Describe the value of having a profession as a whole that is regulated by ethical standards (why do we need ethics, why aren’t the laws by themselves enough?)
