RESEARCH – POSITION PAPER ON RESPONSE TO INTERVENTION AND DIFFERENTIATED INSTRUCTION
As a classroom teacher, you are expected to have the expertise to meet the needs of your students. What kind of interventions will you be expected to provide? Response to Intervention (RTI) is the practice of providing high-quality instruction and interventions matched. RTI should be applied to your remedial teaching decisions in general and should be used to help you in creating a well-integrated system of instruction and intervention that is guided by the student outcome data you collect. In addition, RTI is becoming one of the primary ways to identify students with Learning Disabilities (LD). Since an estimated 10%-15% of students have Learning Disabilities, you will have students whom you need to be assessed both informally and formally. Therefore, it is imperative that you understand the most recent requirements, which may involvers in the process of identifying Learning Disabled students.
The parts of this assignment:
1. Conduct a literature review of information about RTI.
2. Learn whether or not your County/school district (Broward) is currently involved in RTI. The best way to find this information may be to telephone the local school board and speak to someone in the Exceptional (Special) Student Education Department. Provide a summary of the information you are given.
1. Invent and create a hypothetical situation (case study) and describe what RTI methods you would use in your own classroom.

In my classroom of XXX Grade students, I am quite sure that a few of them need more help than I feel I can provide in my classroom. I had been considering referring some of them for testing for exception education. However, before I could do so, I was advised of RtI and told I must implement the procedures in my classroom. * Organization and Structure of the Project
It is important that your project is organized in a logical manner and has a structure that allows the reader to follow your thoughts. Organize and structure your project as follows:

 Sections are composed of paragraphs.
• First section: 2 paragraphs
Introduction, descriiption, the definition of the topic.
• Second section: 2 paragraphs
• Content requirements, summarize, analyze and evaluate information from the literature review; describe RTI in your State or District (Broward)
• Third section: 3 paragraphs
• Case Study Requirements: Setting, Methods, Records, Results, Flow Chart, Professional Partners, Parent Input.
• Last Section: 1 paragraph
• Reflection: Your opinions, thoughts, beliefs.
