In November of last year, the Pew Research Center released the results of a survey of 17 economies that highlight the complexity of Americas international image. People in
other countries find much to admire about the US, but they see many problems as well.
Americans, for their part, also see both strengths and weaknesses in their society.
The survey asked people abroad to judge the United States on six separate categories by
labeling them the best, average, or the worst. The categories were: technology,
entertainment, military, universities, standard of living, health care system. The results
