CLIMATE CHANGE
The European Commissions ambitious climate policy is currently presented in the European Green Deal. The Deal seeks to achieve a new growth strategy for the EU which harness[es] the significant potential in global markets for low-emission technologies, sustainable products and services in order to achieve climate neutrality by 2050. (European Commission 2020). The role of industry is seen by the European Commission to be essential in achievement of climate neutrality and the circular economy, with value chains of all industries including the energy-intensive, playing a key role (European Commission 2020)
Describe and illustrate how a European industry and associated companies are reacting and acting in response to the European Green Deal. The choice of industry is yours examples of some industries facing interesting challenges include cement, energy, transport, or agriculture.
