This is an extra credit optional week. You can pick any whole/grown food (that is primarily from an international
location) that is not listed on our syllabus and write a summary that is similar to the format that I use for the summaries
I provide to you. You do need to try this new food and mention what you think about it’s taste in the preparation
section. It does not have to be as involved with the scientific peer reviewed journal articles as I include, but it does need
to include the following-
1. Food Facts
2. Food History
3. Nutrition Content
4. Nutrition and Disease
5. Agricultural Information
6. Selection and Storage
7. Preparation
It should be one page (12 point font, 1 inch margins, and not more than double spaced, yes- you can use single space if
you want) and have references cited on a second page (a citation page) using APA format.
Although it can use a wide variety of sources of information, everything should have an in text reference and a citation
on the citation page.
