Capstone: Biblical Worldview and the Criminal Justice Profession

This course serves as the Capstone of the Criminal Justice and Human Services major at LeTourneau University. Throughout the course of study, you have discussed how the Christian faith can inform the professional practice of Criminal Justice. You also explored the Biblical narrative and theological implications for Christian life through a series of four Bible and theology courses. For this assignment, you need to draw upon your learning from ALL your coursework and not merely this course.
In a video presentation of 8-10 minutes, discuss how the Christian worldview informs ethical practice by criminal justice professionals. You may focus on a particular profession (policing, corrections, probation, trial work, etc.) or focus on specific issues in contemporary criminal justice.
The presentation should include a discussion of biblical principles that apply to Criminal Justice(along with Scriptural support) [e.g. Justice, human dignity, shalom, etc.] and how these apply to the practice of criminal justice
Format: 8-10-minute video presentation that includes slides that convey key information.
In developing this presentation, you should take the following steps:
Step 1. Develop a presentation that includes at least 5 slides (including a title slide) using a presentation program such as PowerPoint, Google Slides (Links to an external site.), Prezi (Links to an external site.), Powtoon (Links to an external site.), etc. Slides should be graphic heavy. In watching the final presentation, the words you speak are most important. The wording on your slides is to provide visual cues for the audience, not for the audience to read your presentation.
Step 2. Narrate the presentation. There are numerous free program available to narrate a presentation including Screencast-O-Matic (Links to an external site.), Powtoon (Links to an external site.), Focusky (Links to an external site.), Zoom (Links to an external site.) or others. While one can narrate videos in PowerPoint, these online apps make the process much smoother and more professional
Step 3. Host the Presentation online. You should upload your video to either Vimeo or YouTube and submit the link to your presentation. If uploading your video (Links to an external site.) to YouTube, make sure to change the YouTube setting to UNLISTED. If the setting is on private, the instructor will not be able to view the video.
