Research Paper – Reading Your Neighborhood (50 points). This assignment is an interpretation of the neighborhood in which you live, using the social and political analysis of liberation theology. You are to write a one-page paper, font 12, Times New Roman and addresses the following issues:
In which city do you live and where is your neighborhood located in that city? (Neighborhood refers to the area where you live, about one (1) mile around your home.)
What group of people live in your neighborhood – is it predominantly white, predominantly Black, mixed of white, Black, Latino, Asian, Latino, etc.
What is the predominant occupation of the people in your neighborhood – factory workers, office workers, CEO, jobless, etc. Would you say that most people in your neighborhood have good jobs that pay well?
How would you describe your neighborhood compared to other neighborhoods in the city – rich, poor, average, etc. What kind of amenities do you have in your neighborhood compared to other parts of the city – good schools, hospital, houses, recreational facilities, etc.? How far are the best schools from your neighborhood?
What do you think is responsible for the way your neighborhood is and why? In other words, how did your neighborhood become the way it is today?
What would you change if you had the means to change your neighborhood?
Would you say God is pleased on concerned with the standard of living of the people in your neighborhood? Explain.
