Consider the audience of each book. Who is the book written for and what does the book communicate to that audience? Consider the following: Is the book primarily intended for Indigenous young adult readers, a general young adult audience, etc.? Does the book rely on some understanding of the issues it raises, does it seek to educate readers potentially unfamiliar with these topics, or does it try to do both? What are the differences between the intended audiences of the different books and why?
