Essay #2 (20%): Write about the significance of the Chicano Movement or Nuyorican movement highlighting readings from either Week 7, 8, or 9 (3-4 pages). Use at least two readings we read for class to highlight the significance of the Chicano or Nuyorican Movements, connecting the literary output to the history. You should explore how the literature reflects the goals and hopes of the movements, as well as its successes and/or failures. You do not have to use secondary sources, although they are welcome. If you use notes from my power point, you do not need to cite me – think of it as general knowledge. You must include a Thesis statement that relates the work to the Chicano or Nuyorican Movements.
