This assignment is designed to develop your understanding of the System Development Life Cycle (Chapter 9), security (Chapter 10), and opportunities related to the internet of things (Chapter 1). If youre not familiar with Internet of Things (IoT) solutions, you should begin by researching existing IoT solutions described on the internet.
For this assignment, you need to do the three items below. In your paper, create a separate section for each of the three requirements.
1. Design an internet of things solution for your company.
Include the short paragraph about your company that you wrote for the Chapter 2 Valuing Innovations assignment.
Then, state the reason for the IoT solution (i.e., state the need or opportunity for the IoT solution).
Describe the overall design, and then list the components that make up your solution. So, you should do some Internet research to find the types of components that make up internet of things solutions.
2. Work through your internet of design solution using issues and steps in the system development life cycle. Show the connections between the SDLC phases and your internet of things solution. Clearly state each phase and the activities you will perform within each phase.
3. In bullet form, list the security that will be used for your design. For each item, include a brief description of why it is needed, and how it will be used.
Explanations need to be complete, but not necessarily lengthy. Also, while a budget is not provided, cost-effective solutions tend to be better for this assignment.
