Basically the research paper is supposed to talk about the characteristics of Peaceful societies where they never use violence no matter the situation, what lead them to become peaceful or if they have always been peaceful and why. One of the sources you MUST use is “the anthropology of peace and war” by Leslie E. Sponsel. At the end of the article there are a lot of other sources he cites that you can use to write this essay. In Sponsels article he mentions three different societies that are nonviolent, the semai of Malaysia, the waorani of Ecuador, and the Yanomami of Brazil and Venezuela. I think it would be good to focus on those. Also if you want to talk about what differences violent societies vs. Nonviolent societies have, that would be ok too.
