Family Assessment Group Case Presentation (Live Session)
Instructions:
Students will be in groups of 4 – 5 and will prepare a video based on a movie selected by the group to present in the classroom for a grade. Students will follow the outline of the family assessment from Family Assessment Handbook, Barbara Thomlison, page 107. Students will have 10 – 12 minutes to present. Each student will take turns presenting on slides. Everyone should have an equal share of presenting information.
Students will see one of the movies below. Student cannot choose another movie that is not on the list without getting approval from the instructor. Students will need to try and identify what the presenting problem is and how this is impacting the client and the family as well. A client will need to be selected even though you will be working with the entire family unit.
Students will have to be prepared to provide examples to strengthen their points and information selected to share with the class.
Presentation should be conducted in a professional manner. Students should sound like they are experts in the field of the identified problem and understanding families.
