In 1848, Marx and Engels predicted that struggle between the bourgeioisie and proletariat would continue until a revolution overthrew capitalism. But in 1915, W.E.B. Du Bois observed that there were now “new democratic nation[s] composed of united labour and capital.” Is Du Bois’s analysis of these “new nations” consistent with Marx and Engels’s arguments, or does it contradict those arguments?
