Assignment Overview: The goal in this assignment is to demonstrate your understanding ofsolar device characteristics and how they are obtained by writing a “Review” on a selectedpaper that addresses or evaluates solar cell parameters (Short Circuit Current (ISC), OpenCircuit Voltage (VOC), Fill Factor (FF)) and device efficiencies (Solar Conversion Efficiency (ƞ),External Quantum Efficiency (EQE), and Internal Quantum Efficiency (IQE)).Selecting your paper: Each student is responsible for selecting their own paper (1) to review.The selected paper should be published in an international journal of high reputation (e.g. ACSEnergy Letters, Nature Energy, ACS Applied Energy Materials, Advanced Energy Materials,Solar Energy Materials & Solar Cells, etc.) The paper should demonstrate PV devicefabrication, characterization and testing, and the results should highlight/report the solar cellparameters (ISC, VOC & FF) and at least the one device efficiency (ƞ, EQE, IQE).Note: Each review should be between 1-2 page long, 1.15 line-spaced, Arial 11-point font.Each review should provide the following:1. Title and authors of the selected paper2. Summary of the paper (a couple of sentences): This should take only severalsentences and should be in your own language instead of copying the paper’s abstract.It demonstrates that you understand the paper.3. Good things about the paper (one paragraph): There must be something good you feelabout the paper. It can be some good ideas, interesting problems, and clearillustrations. It can also be something you learned from the paper, or inspirations forfollow up work.4. Major comments (several paragraphs): Discuss the strengths/weaknesses of thetechnical approach, explanation, presentation, reasoning, experimental setup(methodology), device fabrication (does the device architecture make sense, does thedifferent materials layers and metal contacts employed reasonable), results andanalysis (does the reported device parameters and efficiency values make sense), etc.Give some suggestions to improve the device performance. Be constructive.5.
