Public Fire and Life Safety Education Programs play a significant role in the fire prevention efforts of cities across the U.S. There are many different programs and organizations available to communicate the message to our audience. Each program is a little different from the next but all of them have the same goal – saving lives through education.
Your assignment this week is to research which fire and life safety program(s) are utilized in San Diego, CA. These programs are presented to local civic groups and schools. If you know specifically what is being taught research that particular program and provide an overview of it. Otherwise, research one of the programs utilized in the United States (e.g. – Learn Not to Burn, Smokey Bear, etc.) and write a 3 paragraph paper on that program. Your paper should include an introduction describing the fire program, a paragraph explaining how the program you chose has changed the fire prevention efforts in the United States (or abroad), and a concluding paragraph summarizing your paper.
