You are to choose from the following list: (of metals: copper, aluminium, zinc, iron and magnesium) and (chemicals: copper sulphate solution, zinc sulphate solution, iron sulphate solution, iron nitrate solution, copper nitrate solution, zinc chloride solution, copper chloride solution, iron chloride solution and magnesium sulphate solution. You are required to design an experiment to test the effectiveness of at least five (5) different electrochemical cells (voltaic cells). Applying the scientific method, perform the experiment in the laboratory, collect your data, analyse your data, draw a conclusion and evaluate your experiment. You can choose from the following:Independent variable: Type of metal, type of 1.0moldm-3 of solution, concentration of one type of solution and use this to determine the voltage that is produced. It is adviceable to keep the concentration of one of the solutions constant while you change the concentration of the other.
