The Assessment Task Evidence from practice and project management theory indicates that effective teamwork and good group dynamics play a very important role towards project success. It is important to create a successful project team, and some of the most common issues faced by project teams are: Lack of trust Conflict and tension Not sharing information Low engagement Lack of transparency No long-term thinking Badly perceived, not delivering Poor change management Working in silos Not going in the same direction. https://www.apm.org.uk/blog/10-common-problems-project-teams-face/ You are required to critically reflect on ONE issue that is related to teamwork and group dynamics that you encountered during the first four weeks of your group formation for the project for PJ1. You should analyse your own contribution to the teamwork and the role you played. Consequently, you should identify where you could improve upon this analysis by evaluating how different theoretical approaches address the specific issue you identified. Hence, you are required to provide a clear strategy for yourself and the team. Your strategy should be related to theory. Here we will be looking for a highly reflective account (with reference to a reflective model), of your own development during the group project (PJ1 Group Project). You will not be commenting on other students’ contributions or input, but only on your own performance. You are expected to read extensively around the issue you have identified. Learning Outcomes On successful completion of this assessment, you will be able to: 1. Compare, contrast and critically evaluate different theoretical approaches to project management. 2. Communicate effectively and empathetically with specialist and non-specialist audiences, demonstrating sensitivity to responsibilities within a project team. 3. Critically reflect and analyse on own and group contributions to the team and identify appropriate strategies for self and team improvements.
