The purpose of this assignment is to evaluate published research and demonstrate critical thinking/reasoning skills through the application of an evidence based practice framework.
In addition, a synthesis of the evidence to address your PICOT question should be written. A synthesis is not a review of each article, but rather a blend of all the articles. A synthesis compares and contrasts the elements of each of the studies.
Compare and contrast (methods and results) across articles. Explain dissimilarities and similarities. Identify and explain unique, unusual or inconsistent findings (results) across articles. Synthesize findings incorporating information from your clinical experience, financial considerations and patient preferences to answer your PICOT question.
