1. Write a paper considering what Mill would argue regarding the ends justifying the means. For example, yes the cells were used with out permission and there was no financial compensation but hundreds of thousands of lives have been saved by the vaccines created for polio and treaments created for cancer.
2. Keep your opinion out of this and make sure you are referring back to what you know of Mill. This is hard to do and if you feel that you must make your argument, do so seperately in an email. The objective of this assignment is to see what you know about Mill and to help you to summarize and maintain charitablity to other people’s arguments. A skill that will help you to think more critically. You do not have to agree with what he might say, instead you merely have to lay out his case for him.
