In order to earn the maximum points for discussions, please follow these guidelines:
Original Post – Your original post should directly and fully respond to the topic(s) the discussion relates to. All posts should consist of complete sentences, with proper spelling and punctuation. You will not be able to see posts until you have created your initial post. All discussions will be open for a full week, and you are asked to create your initial post BEFORE THE LAST DAY THE DISCUSSION IS AVAILABLE. If you choose to wait until the last day of the discussion to participate, you will lose a full letter grade.
Reply – You are asked to reply to the post of another student in a substantive fashion, usually one or two complete sentences at a minimum.
While this should go without saying, please use language that is appropriate for a college classroom. If a discussion has posts you disagree with, you may certainly express your disagreement, but in a respectful way. (It helps to focus on the post, as opposed to the poster.)
For this discussion:
Share with the class your experience with a supervisor who you consider as being one of the best (or worst) you can recall, and why they stand out to you.
What bases of power did they exhibit?
Regardless of whether you considered them “good” or “bad”, give one counterpoint; what could they have done better, or what did you think they did do well?
Finally, what lesson can you take from having observed them and apply to your own style or career?
