3. It is expected that you will incorporate medical vocabulary into the content of your report. A minimum of 10 acceptable* medical terms must be included and defined within your report. Each medical term must be bolded and defined within the narrative or place the meaning of the term in parenthesis. The following identifies what medical vocabulary will count towards points credit.
*ACCEPTABLE MEDICAL TERMS TO MEET THIS REQUIREMENT MUST BE WORD-PART BASED AND USED TO DESCRIBE SYMPTOMS, DIAGNOSIS, AND/OR TREATMENT PROCESSES.
Example: Obstructive lung disease may lead to hypoxemia, a condition of inadequate amounts of oxygen in the blood.
Use of words such as chronic, acute, diagnosis, the prognosis can be used to describe, but will not count toward the 10 required medical words. Abbreviations may be used, but will not count toward the 10 acceptable medical terms.
