Here’s what the professor wants:
• Provide specific detail of the disability.
• Do not retell the movie from beginning to end what went on in the movie.
• What was the dialogue, the interaction between the characters.
• What is the producer’s perspective.
• The actor’s interpretation of the movie.
• What does how Hollywood shows us about an individual with this disability and is it accurate or not.
• Thinking outside the box it’s an analytical analysis with support.
• Do NOT talk about the diagnosis or the disability.
• What would the general public think coming away from this movie.
• Add quotes and support tell me why you think that, based on a conversation that two people had in the film.
• Do a deep dive or an analysis of the movie that you’re watching okay this movie.
For example, the Frida movie.
In my perspective, it talks a lot about her talent, her strength, and her abilities. It doesn’t focus on the pain that she experienced as a result of those disabilities and injuries, how did that make her who she was.
We want to know how the media portrays them because, in order to help them and support them and have them have an open-minded view of their disability in the world and be able to put that into perspective, we need to see what’s being told to them.
