For the Reflection Essay, you may choose to reflect on an experience, another text (such as a book, film, music album, etc), or an event. You should not choose potentially incendiary topics or topics that are quite commonplace (these would include political extremism, conspiracy theories, religion, drugs, abortion, climate change, etc. Consult the instructor if you need help with your topic.
Your essay should be at least 500 words.
Follow the What? So What? Now What? model for reflection.
Have an introduction paragraph, two or more body paragraphs, and a conclusion paragraph.
Each paragraph must have a topic sentence with a controlling idea.
Include purposeful, supporting sentences that elaborate on the topic sentence in each paragraph.
Follow a logical pattern of organization for the essay and the paragraphs.
Provide clear and supportive examples and explanations in each body paragraph.
