President Woodrow Wilson became embroiled in Mexico’s Civil War and for a brief period dispatched American troops into Mexico in a failed attempt to capture Pancho Villa. This Mexican military leader had raided into the United States and killed US citizens. However, European events soon captured America’s attention. The Great War would drag America into the conflict; a war noted for horrific technological advancements in military science.
