Theory paper. 8-10 page paper not including the reference list. 6-10 sources. [worth 40%]
o Pick a theory from the course and search within the library for research papers that use
or test that theory. This paper will have 4 main sections.
1) Overview: Provide an overview of the theory – focusing on its main
ideas/components (2.5 pages – reference at least 3 sources including the original
article).
2) Discuss empirical evidence that shows support for the theory (2.5 pages –
reference at least 3 sources)

pages – reference at least 3 sources, some may be same as section 2, but some
should be different)
4) Conclusion: Review the strengths and weakness of this theory, including any
refinements or qualifications suggested by the research. Provide a summary of
how well this theory works for explaining offending (1.5 pages). .
