Write a paper on Evaluating Counseling Approaches Videos.instructions for the Written Assignment
For this assignment, you will be required to submit at least 4 pages up to a maximum of 6 pages. You will need to watch counseling/therapy demonstration vignettes from the video entitled Three Counseling Approaches: One Adolescent Client You will then compare and contrast the three approaches.
Note – use of research literature from peer-reviewed sources will make your argument and paper stronger, but be sure to cite your paper and list the full references.
Summarize the main assumptions and techniques for the three methods.
Compare (identify/discuss similarities) and contrast (identify/discuss differences) between the three methods of therapy. Be sure to discuss the strengths of each approach and the limitations and weaknesses of each approach?
Select one of the three methods and explain why it might work best with adolescents who have substance use problems? Explain why you believe this is true?
Now select one of the two approaches (Either reality therapy or solution based) demonstrated by video or you can also include motivational interviewing as a third choice. Which specific techniques from that approach do you also believe would be effective? Explain your reasons.
How would you integrate these individual approaches with the group therapy sessions that are also being provided to an adolescent? Include any challenges or obstacles that might develop if you were seeing the adolescent individual and in group sessions.
