Directions:
This essay will allow you to take your analytical skills one step further than OCW#1. All five works (listed below) deal with alternatives to the traditional 4-year college track. However, a careful reader will find subtexts in their arguments: What is the ultimate objective of attending college? What evidence is there that college is unnecessary? Are there alternatives to the pathway toward a well-paying job?
Prompt: Choose two essays from the list below. In this essay, you will show how one reading impacts your reading of a second reading. In other words, to what extent does Author A’s essay support or contradict the ideas in Author B’s essay? In what way does A further develop B’s claim? These 2 readings should have a common point of comparison(s).

Requirements:
Typed, double-spaced, 1” margins, 12-pt font, Times New Roman
Use proper MLA format in setting up your pages
Must include introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion
Thesis statement must be at the end of introductory paragraph
Thesis must contain 4 components: claim, context, counterargument, and significance
Topic sentences must have transition and refer to the thesis
Body paragraphs must contain in-text citations from both readings
Conclusion should summarize major points after restatement and end with a universal
4 full pages, not including Works Cited page
