Sexually transmitted infections are higher amongst first nations populations in Canada compared to the overall population. What factors and barriers account for this and what needs to be done to address it?

The purpose of this paper is to critically analyze a topic and to synthesize the empirical
literature into formulating an educated opinion.

Papers are to be in APA style. Papers should be no more than 15 pages double spaced and
include a minimum of 8 peer-reviewed academic references from empirical journal
articles, governmental websites or book chapters. A title page and reference section is
necessary but an abstract is not. Your references should be recent and you will be
penalized if more recent articles are more appropriate but not included. Do not use
newspapers, magazines, blogs, ‘pop psych’ books, Wikipedia or cite other sources that are
not objectively peer-reviewed or legitimate sources. Legitimate sources include those
such as Statistics Canada, World Health Organization and peer-reviewed journals that can
be found using search engines such as PsycINFO, web of science and PubMed.
