This assignment is intended to help you link/apply/synthesize the curriculum theoretical course
work with your own teaching (educational) practice.
You are asked to choose three (3) theoretical orientations that you find particularly interesting
and relevant to your own practice and discuss them in a 7-10 page paper. You are asked to use a
culturally relevant, decolonizing and inclusive lens through this paper as you critically reflect on
your practice. You may want to include ideas and comments from your reflection, critical
learning log, your article discussions/responses and your infomercial as well as ideas from any
other course resources. These will provide some of the basis for your final paper.
Provide an overview of the theoretical orientations and discuss which parts are relevant to your
practice and why. Use specific examples of what this might look like in your practice. Explain
the importance of culturally relevant pedagogy and inclusive practices.
You can also consider the relationship among the four curriculum common places: students,
instructor, curriculum, and environment in relation to teachers using a culturally relevant
pedagogy
