Take into account all of the hardships Jake endured throughout the trial and explain why you think he continues to serve as Carl Lee’s lawyer. What would you have done if you were in Jake’s shoes? Would you have continued representing Carl Lee?

Is Jake guilty on some level of being an accomplice in the murders of Billy Ray Cobb and Pete Willard? Is Ozzie? Both were told what would happen before it did and neither attempted to stop Carl Lee. Are they partially responsible somehow? How seriously would you have taken Carl Lee’s threat?
