Explain how national monarchs were able to increase their control over their territories in the Renaissance era, and analyze one example of how a monarch put it into practice. Your response should reflect information learned from the lecture.
Select TWO Renaissance masterpieces by one of the following artists, Giotto, Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Raphael, Boticelli, Artemisia, Van Eyck, Holbein, and watch a couple of short videos from Khan Academy for each of the two paintings or statues that you selected. Write one paragraph about each one explaining the main features of the work and what you liked about it. For example, let’s say you want to explore the Mona Lisa, just go to youtube and type in “Mona Lisa Khan Academy” and the video will come up. Or you could probably just go through google or the Khan Academy site directly, but I just find it easy to do on youtube. If there’s another Renaissance artist you’d like to cover (like the one Ninja Turtle I left out, Donatello), please feel free to do so. Make sure all your responses are in your own words.
Since I already examined the “David” by Michelangelo, you cannot do that one.
