The Colosseum was the largest theater of the ancient world, and was originally known as the “Flavian Amphitheater”. It had 100 days of games with wild animal fights and gladiatorial combat. Around the time four emperors took the throne around the time the Colosseum was running until the last one, Vespasian, who ruled for 10 years. The Colosseum had four main entrances, and at its outer rim there were three levels that had strange masonry walls shaped in concentric rings and chambers that looked like a huge thumbprint. A series of people would have teams of slaves to pull in unison to get heavy animals from the basement to the main arena.
