Summarize the bill. Your summary must include: Title of the bill, the name of the legislator sponsoring the bill. The bill summary should be summarized in your own words. It must explicitly state the purpose of the bill, rationale for the bill, what group it is seeking to protect and what outcome will be achieved.
Prepare an advocacy letter in support or opposition of the bill.
The advocacy letter should be a maximum of 1 page.
In the first paragraph, state your reason(s) for writing.
In the second paragraph, state your position on the Bill and the facts (use research presented in class or empirical research you reviewed) to support your position.
In the third paragraph, state what action you want the legislator to take.
Finally, thank the legislator for their time and consideration of your opinion.
