Provide an environmental assessment of the Cwm Rheidol environmental data to determine the nature and extent of contamination at the site, and in the surrounding area. This should include:• A critical assessment and analysis of the environmental data in relation to regulatory environmental standards, to determine the level and extent of contamination• Identification of source – pathway – receptor relationships• Identify and describe the key geochemical process occurring at the site• Identify and critically assess a potential remediation strategy for the siteThe poster should include the following subsections:• Introduction to the site and surrounding area• Environmental data assessment –a critical assessment of the surface water chemistry data (Blackboard => Assessment 1 =>Rheidoldata.xlsx) from the Cwm Rheidol river catchment focusing on the key metal contaminants (e.g. Zn and Pb). This should include comparisons of the metal data to relevant environmental guidelines to determine if/where the site is polluting the Rheidol river, and if so, what elements are contaminating the river and the extent of contamination in the river. Also, identify source-pathway-receptor relationships. Finally, assess whether there have been any changes with time and what implications this might have for the site (See Blackboard = Acid Mine Drainage)• Maps of the area have been produced in files digimap1-8• Discussion of the key geochemical and physical processes occurring, and how they control contaminant metal behaviour. What geochemical processes are controlling the metal concentration across the area?
