Research in preparation for global and community practice

Students will use the course web page links to research their options for going abroad in the second semester. Students who will not be going abroad will use the page to gain useful information on international or community development opportunities upon graduation from the program. Much of this work will be incorporated into either A or B below.

If you do not plan to travel overseas for your practicum work, but would like to explore future international social work, you can do so in this paper. (YES, WANT TO EXPLORE FUTURE INTERNATIONAL SOCIAL WORK AND FEMALE REENTRY IN BELIZE )

Students NOT traveling overseas: students in the GCP concentration who will not be traveling overseas are required to complete a 2-3 page paper on international social work efforts that are undertaken in the US, giving special attention to issues of human rights. For example, a student could complete a paper on international efforts that the Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom are doing from their US offices. Another option is to research job opportunities and detail these in a 2-3 page paper.
