Questions you can consider include: to what extent does using data and unconventional visualization to present history free history from the narrative form (or not), and what are the implications of this?
In light of the emergence of digital humanities and digital history, how did the relationship between history and (data) science change, and what are some implications of this?
What kind of source is data for history? Is digital history a new “paradigm” for history? Does/can digital history change the way we view history, and how/why?
A one-page thesis abstract of the paper will be due 1 week before the paper’s due date. The abstract will not be graded but failure of submission will result in a half-letter grade drop of the paper (e.g. from A to A-).
