This assignment asks you to use three (3) assessments to investigate the reading habits and skills of a struggling reader.
You will review the results of your assessments to determine how you might support this student. All parts of this assignment must be done with the same student, a struggling reader. The results from the assessments will be used to create an instructional/intervention plan for the student.
This instructional plan should include ways you might be able to support the student’s literacy needs, based on what you learned about the student’s needs through the assessments. Additionally, you will write a reflection in which you discuss the implications of this experience for your classroom by connecting to multiple professional sources and describe how you (or in collaboration with other teachers) might use these kinds of assessments to learn about students. Include your field logs with dates and the specific activities done with the student during each meeting. Student can be from grade 1-5. Assessment use can be running records, comprehension test and/or informal inventory reading survey.
