The individual assignment has two parts, both related to the travel industry:
Part 1
Go to https://www.traveldailynews.com/mice-industry/business-travel/bcd-travel-announces-the-industry-s-first-end-to-end-sustainability-offering-for-corporate-travel-programs/ and read the article about a company, BCD Travel, that announced in May this year they are introducing a new offering to help clients set and achieve carbon targets, change traveler behavior, and streamline sustainability efforts across travel bookings.
Using concepts we have discussed in class so far (e.g., sustainability/value creation matrix, LCA/LCT, systems thinking/systems analysis, innovation, etc.) critically analyze the announcement – How do the concepts from class now inform your understanding of what BCD travel and its partners are doing, and why?
How would you explain the company’s actions and approach to someone using concepts from the class?

Part 2
Go to and read the article about an announcement from Alaska Airlines last month regarding a change to their in-flight operations.
Using concepts we have discussed in class so far critically analyze the announcement to answer the question: Does Alaska Airlines’ move toward reusable serveware on their flights represent a serious strategic sustainability action?
