Using the information from the Business Continuity Planning Suite at FEMA’s Ready.gov website, create an outline for how a private sector business within your selected critical infrastructure sector (Defense Industrial Base Sector) and develop a business continuity plan.
For example, if you selected the Health Care and Public Health sector you might choose a fictitious hospital or clinic for this assignment. If you chose the Financial Services Sector, you might choose a fictitious bank; if you chose the Chemical Sector, you might select an oil refinery; and if you selected the Transportation Sector you may choose a fictitious rail line or cruise ship.

Create a fictitious business that would operate under the critical infrastructure sector you selected in Week 1.
Assume you have just been hired as the company’s Business Continuity Coordinator.
Develop a briefing document for your boss on how you are planning to develop a business continuity program for the company.
Your briefing document should include the following sections:
Overview: Set the stage. Describe the fictitious business you are working for. Include the name, purpose of the company (why do they exist), where they are located, how many employees, and what the hazards or threats are to the business.
Need for Continuity: Identify the critical services provided to the business’ customers/clients. Predict the interdependencies of other sectors that rely on the services provided by the company.
Priorities for Restoration: Analyze and report on the prioritized systems most critical to restoring the essential functions of the business. (This could be a list of 3-7 essential functions).
Business Continuity Planning Approach: Assemble an outline of the steps you recommend be adopted to proceed with developing a Business Continuity Plan/Program.
Conclusion and Call to Action: Summarize your recommendation on how to move forward and the importance of your proposal. Be sure to use credible sources to substantiate your claims.
References: Be sure to cite a minimum of three credible sources with intext citations and a Reference section. You may use required materials, or those you find through your own research efforts. All references need to follow APA style.
