Remember, this is a rough draft, so it doesn’t have to be perfect.
use the attached Template as a guide to help you write your
introduction section. Remember, a template is an example you can follow –
so you will want to replace all of my text with your own, but
use the same formatting and organization and follow the suggestions I
provided in the comments.
Open your Proposal Outline. Save as a new file (save a copy) and rename it Proposal Draft Introduction.
Page 2 is the Abstract – leave that blank for now.
Page 3 is the start of the Introduction section. Type your title at the top of the page in sentence case (or revise the one that’s there).
1.
in your outline & in the Writing Workshop, you organized your
introduction by subtopics. Begin writing about the first subtopic. Keep
in mind that you don’t want to write about a previous study at length
unless it is pertinent in understanding your study. A good place to
start is summarizing the findings of each study related to that subtopic
in 1-3 sentences.
2. Move on to writing about subtopic #2.
3.
Move on to writing about subtopic #3 (if applicable). If not, move on to step 4
4.
Work on writing transition sentences between paragraphs and subtopics.
5.
Write a summary of why your proposed study is necessary and adds to our understanding of the topic.
6.
End by stating your proposed hypothesis. Be sure to operationally define your variables.
see Writing workshop 2 – Research Proposal Plan. filled out document attached, for the information you need to insert. this is just a rough draft they said it would be 500 words at the most.
