Write a study on the topic of acquisition planning and strategic procurement for space exploration.Problem statement: Initiate a study to identify different procurement contract mechanisms for Strategy and Architecture (SAO) activities. NASA provided procurement activity examples for each potential contract. SAO collaboratively develops and manages IT strategy and architecture to meet NASA’s current and future needs, driving transformation, innovation, informed investment planning, and processes to measure and communicate results. Development includes NASA’s IT Strategic Plan, integrated roadmaps, future-state business capabilities and services, and data-driven investment guidance.
Objective: Draft a set of strategic recommendations for acquisition and contracting approaches that enable the adoption of future technologies in space missions (enable NASA examples above), focusing on operational resilience and the capacity to integrate emerging capabilities.
