Write a research paper that explains what an intellectual property case may look like.
For
the Unit VIII Case Study, research specific intellectual property theft
incidents as well as standards and guidelines to prevent intellectual property
theft.
Choose
two specific incidents of intellectual property theft from your research.
Each
incident must have occurred within the last 5 years. Your specific incidents
may range from patent infringement and corporate espionage to theft by
cyberattack or even theft of information by a disgruntled employee. At least
one incident must involve a company doing business internationally. Do not use
any of the examples from the unit lesson. When choosing your incidents, be sure
that enough information is available to meet the assignment requirements.
Specifically, include the following details for both incidents:
a brief
description of the selected case of intellectual property theft,
a discussion of
the existing security protocols in the organization prior to the
event,
an analysis of
the organization’s response and changes made after the incident, and
a discussion of
the legal and ethical issues involved in the security breach.
The
completed case study should be a minimum of four pages, not counting the title
page and references page. Using the CSU Online Library, find a minimum of four
journal articles as your foundational sources for this assignment, citing the
articles to support your discussion. Adhere to APA Style when constructing this
assignment, including in-text citations and references for all sources that are
used. Please note that no abstract is needed.
