A review generally starts out with a brief plot summary, giving some of the facts of the work. As it develops its own central idea, the writer gives opinions—backed up by facts from the work—to explain their central idea and how they got to that idea. A reviewer often gives a recommendation about whether or not the reader should see this film or play. In this way, the review has both an informative and a persuasive purpose. You will want to be sure that you give your overall view with support. Your thesis will be your general assessment of the film. You need to establish a clear set of criteria for how you are assessing the film. Devote a paragraph to each criterion. Examples could be acting, story line, action, humor, costumes, and sound. Of course, the criteria may vary depending upon the film. I would like you to choose one of the following for your review for the essay.
Black Panther
Spiderman: Into the Spider verse
Black Widow
Birds of Prey and the Fantabulous
Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings
Daredevil
The Eternals
Blade
Captain Marvel
The Marvels
Here are some points to consider as criteria: the characters (and/or the actors), the point of view, the setting, the ideas/theme, conflict, symbolism, costumes, effects, and purpose. You must also discuss the significance of the film as it relates to diversity and inclusion.
