Writing an Annotated Bibliography
The Annotated Bibliography Assignment should be based on the Topic you chose for the Issue Proposal and should also be the same that you will use for the Researched Argument paper. The sources you choose for the Bibliography should be the same used for the Argument – unless you change or add more sources when writing th Argument.
Writing an Annotated Bibliography can be very useful in preparing a Research Paper. They are used to carefully evaluate the relevance and usefulness of your research findings (sources). As you begin researching your Argument topic, you will be compiling a Working Bibliography of sources https://owl.purdue.edu/owl/general_writing/common_writing_assignments/annotated_bibliographies/annotated_bibliography_samples.html will show you examples.
The Researched Argument paper, which will be due after the Annotated Bibliography, will require at least 5 sources, so the Annotated Bibliography will be the Working Sources that you start out with though some may change before the final Researched Argument paper. You will most likely find more information than you will probably end up using, so by Annotating your sources, you can narrow down and decide what to use and what not to use. An Annotation for a source is a summary of what it′s about, and a statement on how it will be used in your paper and/or whether it is ″useful″ or ″relevant″ to your topic.
To start the research component of this project, you will compile a Bibliography of your sources. Go to the Library′s Home Page to start with (opens in a new tab at http://www.gaston.edu/library) and start with the search engines under ″Search for Articles″. Experiment with your search terms! Research is a process and you may not find anything at first until you experiment with different search parameters. You can also use doaj.org and Google Scholar, and the World Wide Web, as well.
Find 5 or more Sources – a variety is preferred from the databases through the library′s home page, magazine/journal articles, websites, and printed publications as well. As you find sources, keep track of information that you will need to write MLA Works Cited citations, like authors, titles, publications/websites, page numbers, volume numbers, dates, etc… This will become your Annotated Bibliography and the sources you will use for the first Researched Essay.
What′s an Annotated Bibliography

See the attached file ″Example of an Annotated Bibliography″. Your paper should be formatted the same way.
This assignment is your first Major Paper = 40% of your grade
To write an Annotated Bibliography: write an MLA Works Cited citation for each source and then a 100-150 word summary and evaluation of each source right below each citation.
Your Annotated Bibliography should have at least Five Sources that you will use for the Researched Argument Paper.

Two of the sources should be from an Academic Database (any of the databases from NC Live are acceptable: ProQuest, CQ Researcher, SIRS Researcher, Academic Search Elite, etc…).
The other three sources can be any combination of books, articles, websites, government sites, personal interviews, movies, videos, radio and/or T.V. broadcasts, etc… Each source should reflect the sources that you will be using in your Researched Argument paper (though you can or may change some of them for your final draft of the paper due after this Bibliography).
In addition to the Databases listed above through NC Live, there are also excellent Academic Research Databases on the web at doaj.org and at Google Scholar. These search engines provide real Scholarly articles for college research.

This article discusses the differences and similarities between “Method Acting” and “Technical Acting”. For example, “Method Acting” asks actors to fully immerse themselves in the general world of the role and the specific world of their characters. Method work is also called internal or subjective work because actors build the character from within, tapping into the parts of themselves that relate to the character. The article also discusses Stella Adler′s The Actor′s Studio and Marlon Brando′s legacy of younger actors: Johnny Depp, James Franco, and Matthew McConaughey . The article is useful because your paper will focus on how Method Acting is used today, including the film Interstellar.

Length: 5 sources with 5 annotations: 100-150 words for each annotation.
All major papers and assignments should be in Times New Roman 12 pt. font
